What We’re Looking For: We’re looking for a Senior Backend Engineer (Level 3 or Level 4) to help scale, stabilize, and evolve core platform services that power critical functionality across Meltwater. In this role, you’ll work on high-impact, high-traffic systems focused on authentication, permissions, provisioning, and other foundational capabilities that enable product teams to move faster without sacrificing reliability. You’ll play a key role in improving performance, reducing technical debt, and driving long-term platform evolution in a Node.js environment, with an ongoing transition from JavaScript to TypeScript. What You'll Do
- Build, maintain, and improve backend services that support company-wide functionality
- Develop production-grade Node.js services using JavaScript and TypeScript
- Migrate existing JavaScript services to TypeScript to improve scalability and maintainability
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks (caching, async processing, latency, throughput)
- Reduce technical debt and simplify service architecture for long-term efficiency
- Improve system observability, monitoring, and operational readiness
