Senior Software Engineer – Subscription & Development Platform IT

As a Senior Software Engineer, you design, develop and operate scalable, high-quality solutions. You combine deep technical expertise with strong conceptual thinking to shape Hilti’s software engineering direction and cloud capabilities that form the backbone of Hilti’s digital infrastructure. Beyond hands-on development, you inspire and mentor colleagues, foster collaboration across global stakeholders, and ensure alignment between long-term vision, engineering practices, and business outcomes.

What You'll do

You take end-to-end ownership by designing, developing and operating high-quality platform services that build the backbone of Hilti’s software offering. Leading by example, you drive continuous improvement, manage technical debt and operational risks proactively as well as optimize the cloud system for scalability and performance. In addition, you are acting as a technical mentor to other team members and ensure consistency across engineering standards, DevSecOps best practices, actual implementations and contribute to the AWS cloud software engineering community.

What You’ll Bring

To help you succeed, we’ll provide you with everything you need so that we’re driving impact together from day one. You’ll find a stable working environment, exceptional support, learning and development, and a great team around you. Here’s what you’ll need to bring with you:

• Proven hands-on experience with Spring Boot ecosystem (Security, WebFlux, Data/MyBatis), strong understanding of Spring internals (beans, AOP, request handling, serialization), and API design using REST and OpenAPI.

• Strong experience designing and operating microservices on AWS using ECS, DynamoDB and Aurora, with solid knowledge of event-driven systems and services such as SQS, SNS, EventBus and Lambdas, combined with CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code practices.

• Strong experience in modern testing approaches (e.g., RestAssured, TestContainers, WireMock, Localstack) and a solid understanding of cloud security, resilience, and operational excellence in enterprise environments.
