About the job
We are looking for a talented Senior Software Engineer to join our Product, Design, and Engineering organisation and help shape the future of spend management.
You will join our Wallet squad, part of the Payment Groups, helping build reliable, scalable, and user-friendly financial services for finance teams. This role is primarily backend-focused, with an expected split of approximately 70% backend and 30% frontend.
You will take ownership of functional and technical topics across the full feature lifecycle, from discovery and specification through technical design, development, testing, documentation, deployment, and maintenance.
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will also help shape the squad’s technical direction, lead initiatives, support strong engineering practices, and contribute to a positive and collaborative team culture.
Our stack
- TypeScript, with Node.js and React
- PostgreSQL for data storage
- Redis, SQS, and Kafka for jobs, messaging, and queues
- Terraform to define our infrastructure
- Kubernetes, Lambdas, and Step Functions to run our applications
- AWS, GitHub Actions, Claude Code, and LLM-assisted workflows
Key responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain reliable services for wallet accounts, deposits, balances, cash movements, and payment flows.
- Build clear and trustworthy experiences that help finance teams understand current and future cash positions.
- Contribute to capabilities that improve liquidity, funding flows, and the movement of funds in, out, and between entities.
- Work on international and multi-entity use cases, including multi-currency wallet capabilities.
- Contribute to accounting, segregation, reporting, and operational workflows that support accurate and compliant financial services.
- Define and evolve robust architectures, applying principles such as hexagonal architecture, clear domain boundaries, and strong data consistency.
- Lead technical initiatives from discovery and design through implementation, delivery, and continuous improvement.
- Use AI-assisted development tools daily, share effective practices, and help promote responsible usage across engineering.
What we’re looking for
