- Design and evolve scalable, secure, and highly available cloud-native solutions for business-critical applications
- Define end-to-end solution architecture, including system decomposition, service boundaries, data ownership, integration contracts, and communication patterns
- Lead architectural decision-making across multiple engineering teams, balancing business needs, technical requirements, cost, and long-term maintainability
- Drive architecture reviews, establish technical standards, and ensure alignment with engineering best practices
- Design and optimize large-scale distributed systems leveraging modern architectural patterns such as microservices, event-driven architecture, serverless, and modular monoliths where appropriate
- Partner with engineering, product, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into practical technical solutions
- Guide cloud architecture initiatives on AWS or Azure, focusing on scalability, resilience, security, disaster recovery, and cost optimization
- Lead architecture modernization, cloud migration, and platform transformation programs
- Define and promote Infrastructure as Code practices using technologies such as AWS CDK, Terraform, CloudFormation, or equivalent tools
- Mentor engineers and technical leads, fostering architectural excellence and helping teams make sound technical decisions
- Evaluate technology choices, frameworks, and architectural patterns, including understanding when a particular approach is not the right fit
