Senior Solutions Architect (Pre-Sales)

Role Overview:

The Senior Solutions Engineer will own the technical side of how Teifi wins work. When a manufacturer with 200,000 SKUs, a 15-year-old ERP and 80 stores asks whether Shopify can run their business, you're the one who finds out, decides how it gets built, and works with the broader team to craft the right solution, estimate the project effort, and finalize the Scope of Work.

This is a pre-sales seat, end to end: first discovery call to a signed statement of work. You will be the reason the work reaching our delivery team is scoped right, priced honestly and buildable as written.

You'll join a growing architecture team of Principal, Solutions and Systems Architects, working alongside our Account Executives and reporting to the Director of Solutions Architecture.

Key Responsibilities:

• Discovery. Run the technical side of discovery with the clientsIT, e-commerce, finance and store operations leads. Get past the symptom the client describes to the cause underneath it: an integration that never mapped a field, a process that moved into someone's spreadsheet years ago, a workaround nobody has written down. To distill this into a clear set of requirements for solutioning.
• Solution design. Decide what Shopify does natively, what an existing app or one of our products (like WorkMate) covers, and what genuinely needs custom work.
• Demos and solution reviews. Present Teifi solutions to clients and handle live technical questions, objections, and share best-in-class recommendations with prospective merchants. Build demo stores and prototypes when a slide won't make the point.

• Scope and estimate integrity. Author the scope behind the SOW and stand behind the effort in it. Clearly documenting assumptions, When something is out of scope, say so during the deal, not after it. Sometimes the right answer is "not this way", and you'll be trusted to say it.
• Making it reusable. Turn what you scope into patterns the next deal can start from. We work AI-first, and you'll help shape the tooling and pipelines our team uses to scope and price faster without losing accuracy.

Qualifications:

• From the agency side: you've been the accountable pre-sales or delivery architect on complex commerce programs (ERP, OMS or POS integrations, replatforms) and can show us scopes that survived delivery.
• From the brand side: you've run a Shopify commerce platform , lived through a migration experience, , and know the difference between what demos well and what a store associate will do on a busy Saturday. If you've moved between those two worlds, even better.

Must-haves

Unified Commerce Strategy

• Fluent with platform capabilities: what's native, what should run via first party apps, what requires and should be developed custom.
