Role Purpose
The Senior System Analyst (SSA) reports to the IT manager and is responsible for bridging business requirements and technical implementation while leading projects from initiation to deployment. Beyond system analysis and design, the SSA takes ownership of end-to-end project management, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business objectives. For small-scale system enhancements, the SSA will directly perform requirement gathering, coding, and testing. This role demands both strategic oversight and hands-on technical execution, ensuring solutions—whether internal or vendor-delivered—adhere to Aspial’s architecture, standards, and system integrity.
Key Responsibilities
- Requirements Analysis & Technical Translation
- Lead requirement gathering sessions for small-scale enhancements.
- Interpret Functional Specification Documents (FSDs) prepared by Business Analysts.
- Convert FSDs into Technical Specification Documents (TSDs), including logic flows, data mappings, interface specifications, and system rules.
- Clarify system constraints, dependencies, and edge cases with stakeholders.
- Project Management & Delivery
- Manage small to medium size end-to-end project lifecycle: initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure
- Define project scope, timelines, deliverables, and resource allocation.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams and vendors to ensure project milestones are met.
- Track risks, issues, and dependencies, providing timely resolutions and updates to management.
- System Design & Architecture Support
- Collaborate with Solution Architects to align designs with Aspial’s architecture and integration standards.
- Document system behavior using ERDs, sequence diagrams, flow charts, and data flow diagrams.
- Identify technical risks and propose mitigation strategies.
- Development & Hands-On Coding
- For small-scale enhancements, act as both analyst and developer.
- Write and maintain code for system enhancements, integrations, or fixes.
- Conduct unit, API, and integration testing.
- Ensure code quality meets Aspial’s standards for structure, naming conventions, and security.
- Vendor Coordination & Governance
- Collaborate with external vendors during development.
- Review vendor TSDs, designs, and outputs for compliance with Aspial’s system structure.
