How will you make a difference?
As Senior System Engineer, you are the technical architect behind these systems. You translate customer and regulatory requirements into robust system designs, make sure hardware, software and networks fit together perfectly, and guide your system from the first concept to the moment a train rolls out with it on board. Along the way, you keep the technical side of your projects on track and get to see the real-world impact of what you build.
What will your typical day look like?
- Analyze customer specifications and turn them into clear system requirements, traceable all the way through design, integration and testing.
- Design the system architecture of Passenger Information and Video Protection Systems, including hardware, software, network and interfaces to the vehicle and wayside.
- Define and manage interfaces with internal teams, train manufacturers and suppliers, and keep the big picture consistent.
- Own the system documentation, from requirement specifications and architecture descriptions to interface documents and test specifications.
- Drive system integration, verification and validation, from the lab to type tests and commissioning on the vehicle.
- Make sure our systems meet rail standards for RAMS, EMC, fire protection and cybersecurity.
- Lead the technical work packages of your projects: plan effort, schedule and technical risks, and work closely with the commercial project manager.
- Support bids and presales with solution concepts, technical clarifications and well-founded effort estimates.
- Share what you know: mentor colleagues and help us continuously improve our system engineering methods.
What do we want to know from you?
- A degree in Embedded Systems, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or something similar.
- Several years (typically 7+) of experience in system engineering of complex embedded systems.
