Senior Underwriter - Marine & Energy Liability

Role: Senior Underwriter - Marine & Energy LiabilityLocation: London Position: Full time, permanent

The Senior Underwriter - Marine and Energy Liabilities is responsible for underwriting and developing a portfolio of marine and energy liability business, contributing to the profitable growth of an established and well performing account.

The book wrote around 81 million last year with 95% retention, of which around 23 million is led and 57 million followed. It has broadened well beyond its traditional upstream base, with significant growth in power and utilities, and continues to develop as the energy market itself changes.

The team runs as one, rather than as separate marine and energy silos, and is supported by a specialist marine and energy claims function and by the financial security of Mitsui Sumitomo. For an underwriter, that combination means a genuine lead book, a broad appetite and the backing to write meaningful lines.
