Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking Principal / Sr Principal Industrial Engineer. This position will be located in Vandenberg, CA.What You’ll Get To Do:
This role will support Industrial Engineering activities for the Systems Test Team (STT). The preferred candidate will be an individual with a bias for action, strategic thinking, data analysis, problem-solving, exceptional customer focus, communications, and a sound foundation in Industrial Engineering concepts, with an expertise in scheduling, manpower, and facility layouts. General skills and expectations within the role include:
Key Responsibilities:
- Strong foundation in Industrial Engineering fundamentals (Production Intervals, Cycle Time, Takt Time, Standard Hour Content, Time Studies, EVMS, Continuous Improvement, Scheduling, Capacity Analysis, Facility Layouts)
- Responsible for tracking hardware deliveries and maintaining detailed schedules and metrics to report status to upper leadership
- Develop and maintain SQDEC (Schedule, Quality, Delivery, Employee, Cost) Boards with various metrics on a daily basis.
- Understand principles of capacity (efficiencies, standards, constraints, etc.)
- Knowledge of manufacturing flows and how they interface with shop floor and Global Supply Chain
- Understand labor standard development and work measurement. Create standard hour content for new scope.
- Perform shop floor time studies on manufacturing and test activities.
- Work with functional team to understand scheduling requirements at implementation sites
- Ability to create detailed manufacturing waterfall schedules with setbacks to independent demands
