Site Reliability EngineerExcited by complex infrastructure and building scalable architecture?
Join our technical team and become a key infrastructure expert for a globally used SaaS platform. If you enjoy taking ownership of proprietary systems, bridging the gap between R&D and hosting, and keeping critical platforms online, this role is for you.
About Us
We build specialist software for the glass industry. Our mission is to be the most widely used software platform for glass shops globally. With offices in Auckland and London, we’re growing fast - and we need great people to grow with us.
About the role
We’re looking for a hands-on engineer to keep our infrastructure reliable, secure and running smoothly. You’ll look after our production servers distributed across the world, as well as servers physically located in our NZ office. You’ll join a collaborative, relaxed office where there’s always time for a game of pool or foosball, and we offer some flexibility to work from home.
What you’ll do
- Provision, build, monitor, maintain and patch physical and virtual (Hyper-V) Windows Server environments.
- Support our network infrastructure, including firewalls, routing and switching.
- Lead the response to critical production incidents across servers, networks and cloud infrastructure, partnering with R&D to diagnose root causes and deliver lasting fixes.
- Monitor system performance and contribute to capacity planning.
- Design and improve infrastructure for high availability and performance under heavy load, including load balancing.
- Strengthen our security through vulnerability management and remediation.
- Manage storage, backup and recovery, and support business continuity planning.
- Automate manual processes and look for ways to improve how things run.
- Keep technical documentation, standards and procedures up to date.
- Work with third-party vendors and consultants.
- Support colleagues across our global team, sharing your knowledge and helping build technical capability across time zones to ensure 24/7 continuous operations and global scalability.
- Modernize our deployment pipeline to automate builds, testing and deployments, using Github Actions.
- Work with our developers to architect backend systems for new features, so they’re reliable and scalable from day one.
Some after-hours and weekend work is needed to support planned updates and urgent issues.
