Arcadis is looking for an experienced Site Supervisor / QA Supervisor to support the delivery of a technically complex construction project in Belgium. The role combines field-based site supervision with quality assurance and technical compliance, primarily for Civil works and, where relevant, MEP activities.
Working closely with the client’s engineering team, the Project Management Consultant (PMC), designers, contractors and subcontractors, you will help ensure that construction activities are delivered in accordance with approved drawings, project specifications, quality requirements and the agreed programme.
Role accountabilities
- Supervise construction activities on site, with a primary focus on Civil works and coordination with MEP disciplines where required.
- Review shop drawings, fabrication drawings and technical submittals in detail, together with the Owner’s engineering team, and assess compliance with the record set specifications and construction drawings.
- Review subcontractor and Owner Furnished Equipment (OFE) submittals and provide clear technical comments, recommendations or exceptions where appropriate.
- Review Requests for Information (RFIs), identify items that may be critical to the project schedule and support timely, technically robust responses.
- Review and approve the agreed list of First of a Kind (FOAK) benchmark installations to reduce quality-control issues and non-conformances.
- Carry out site inspections and verify that workmanship, materials and installations comply with approved documentation, project requirements and expected quality standards.
- Identify potential quality issues and non-conformances, document observations and coordinate appropriate corrective actions with the relevant stakeholders.
- Provide design-review support for change notifications issued by the PMC, including an assessment of technical merit, constructability, scope and potential cost or schedule impact.
- Coordinate effectively with contractors, subcontractors, engineering disciplines and project stakeholders to resolve technical and interface issues.
- Maintain accurate review, inspection and quality records, and provide clear reporting on progress, risks, outstanding actions and deviations.
