Social Media & Content Strategist

Do you watch a TikTok twice, once to laugh and once to reverse-engineer why it worked? Is your saves folder deeper than Infinite Jest is long? Fan-TASTIC. ~Pourri (formerly Poo~Pourri) is hunting an experienced Social Media & Content Strategist with an elevated sense of humor, a creatively strategic mind, and real taste. The twist? You own two sets of channels, ours and our founder's, and you run them as one connected strategy.

About Us
In 2007, Suzy Bátiz created Poo~Pourri, a natural, effective solution to a universal problem: sh*t happens... and it stinks. Since then, Poo~Pourri has grown into ~Pourri, reflecting a broader vision and expanding portfolio of products designed to help people live more freely and confidently.

We're a team of fast-paced rule-breakers on a mission to find new paths to personal freedom. Our brand redefines how the world thinks and talks about taboos. In a world full of rules, playing it safe, and "that can't be done," ~Pourri doesn't subscribe to that crap. We dream differently. Want to come play with us?

About the role
We are looking for a Social Media & Content Strategist who understands what makes people stop scrolling, engage, follow, share, and come back for more. This role will own the organic social strategy across both ~Pourri's brand channels and our founder's channels, developing a connected strategy that builds awareness, grows our audiences, increases engagement, and strengthens both brands.

We're looking for someone who doesn't just consume social media. You study it. You understand why something worked, what made someone engage, how platforms and audiences behave differently, and how to turn those insights into a repeatable growth strategy. You'll determine what we should be doing, where we should be doing it, why it matters, and how we'll measure whether it's working.

This is a strategy-first position, but it isn't strategy from the sidelines. We're a small, entrepreneurial team, so you'll stay close to the work, collaborate directly with our content and creative partners, and be willing to jump in when needed.

What This Role Is (and Isn't)
This is a strategy-first role. While you'll partner closely with content creators, editors, designers, agencies, influencers, and production teams, you are not the primary content creator. Your responsibility is to determine what content should be created, who it should reach, where it should live, why it matters, and how success will be measured.

You'll build social strategy from the ground up, identify growth opportunities, establish testing frameworks, define content priorities, and provide clear direction that helps bring great content to life.

We're looking for someone who can connect consumer behavior, audience insights, social psychology, cultural trends, and platform expertise into a repeatable growth strategy. We need someone who can look beyond what is trending today and identify where we should go next.

What you'll own (aka the sh*t you'll run with)

Social Strategy & Growth

• Develop and build from scratch the organic social strategy across ~Pourri and our founder's channels, including channel positioning, content pillars, testing frameworks, audience segmentation, and growth plans.

• Build strategies designed to increase engagement, reach, brand awareness, audience affinity, and sustainable audience growth.

• Determine the role of each platform, including TikTok, Instagram, YouTube/YouTube Shorts, Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest, and emerging channels.

• Determine what content belongs where, what should cross over between brand and founder channels, and why.

Develop content pillars, recurring formats, series, and channel strategies that can scale.

• Establish the appropriate posting cadence and broader content rhythm based on audience behavior and platform performance.

• Identify opportunities to build greater connection between ~Pourri's brand ecosystem and our founder-led content.

• Conduct ongoing audits of social channels, content performance, audience behavior, and competitive activity to identify growth opportunities and strategic recommendations.

Insights, Analytics & Optimization

• Establish social KPIs and reporting that clearly show what's working, what's not, and what we're doing next.

Analyze engagement, reach, audience behavior, content performance, and emerging patterns.

• Develop ongoing testing frameworks across hooks, formats, captions, creative approaches, pacing, timing, topics, and content styles.

• Translate performance data into actionable recommendations for creative and content teams.

• Understand why high-performing content works and use those learnings to inform future organic and paid content.

• Identify consumer cohorts and audience segments and recommend strategies for reaching and engaging them.

• Monitor competitive brands, creators, founders, cultural conversations, and emerging social behaviors to identify opportunities we can act on.

• Continuously test, learn, optimize, and refine channel strategies based on findings.

Platform Expertise & Innovation

• Stay immersed in how social platforms are evolving, including algorithm changes, new features, emerging formats, and changing audience behavior.

• Continually bring new ideas, opportunities, trends, tools, and platform learnings to the team.

• Recognize the difference between a trend we should jump on and one we should leave alone.

• Help ~Pourri move quickly when the internet presents an opportunity that authentically fits our brand.

• Bring a deep curiosity for consumer behavior, culture, social trends, and audience psychology.

Brand + Founder Strategy

• Develop a connected social ecosystem for both ~Pourri and our founder while maintaining their distinct voices, audiences, and objectives.

• Understand how a founder-led social presence can amplify the brand without simply duplicating brand content.

Help establish the voice, positioning, content pillars, and growth strategy for each channel.

• Identify opportunities for founder content, podcast/episodic programming, brand content, and cultural moments to work together.

• Protect what already works while pushing both the brand and founder channels forward.

Creative Direction & Collaboration

• Translate social strategy into clear, actionable direction for the people creating and executing content.

• Partner closely with content production, creative, marketing, paid media, agencies, creators, and outside partners.

• Develop briefs and provide direction on hooks, angles, formats, and platform variations needed to bring the strategy to life.

• Partner with the content team on real-time opportunities and adjust strategy based on what's happening online.

• Identify high-performing organic content that should move into paid testing and provide context around why it worked.

• Provide strategic guidance for influencer and creator content, including briefs and performance feedback.

QUALIFICATIONS + EXPERIENCE (What we're looking for)

• 4-6 years of experience in social media strategy, content strategy, organic social, audience growth, or a related field.

• Proven experience developing social strategies that resulted in measurable engagement growth, reach, brand awareness, audience growth, or community development.

• Experience building a social strategy from scratch, including audits, audience research, competitive analysis, channel positioning, and strategic roadmaps.

• Experience working with a consumer-facing brand.

• Deep understanding of TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube/YouTube Shorts, with working knowledge of additional platforms.

• Strong understanding of consumer behavior, social psychology, audience motivations, and cultural trends.

• Strong understanding of organic social analytics, KPIs, audience insights, platform performance, and experimentation.

• Experience developing testing frameworks and using performance insights to refine content strategy, audience engagement, and channel growth.

• Ability to show specific examples of strategies you've personally developed, what you changed, why you changed it, and the results those changes produced.

• Strong understanding of short-form content, storytelling, hooks, trends, platform-native creative, and what drives engagement.

• Ability to balance creative instinct with data and use both to make decisions.

• Strong writing, communication, and presentation skills.

• Comfortable providing creative direction and working directly with content creators, editors, designers, and production teams.

• Highly curious and naturally plugged into what's happening across culture, creators, consumer brands, and emerging platforms.

• Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment where priorities can change quickly.

• Willing to get into the weeds when needed. You're a strategist, but you're not above the work.

• Available for in-person collaboration, shoots, and events as needed.

Bonus points if you have... (That extra somethin')

• Experience developing social strategy for a founder, CEO, entrepreneur, or public figure.

• Experience working within a founder-led, entrepreneurial, or high-growth consumer company.

• Experience balancing a corporate or consumer brand voice with a founder's personal voice.

• Social strategy experience for a podcast, episodic show, or other recurring programming.

• Experience working directly with platform representatives from Meta, TikTok, YouTube, or other major social platforms.

• Social listening experience.

• Experience working with creators and micro-influencers.

• Experience translating organic social performance into paid social testing and creative recommendations.

• Familiarity with tools such as Sprout Social, Sprinklr, Hootsuite, and project management tools such as Asana.

• Enough knowledge of content production and editing workflows to give strong creative direction without needing to be the team's full-time editor.

Who Will Thrive Here

You may be a great fit if:

• You naturally ask why something worked, not just whether it worked.

• You enjoy analyzing audience behavior and turning insights into action.

• You think in testing opportunities, hypotheses, and continuous improvement.

• You can connect consumer psychology, culture, trends, and business goals into a clear social strategy.

• You get excited about building programs from scratch rather than inheriting an existing playbook.

• You know the difference between chasing trends and creating sustainable growth.

• You are comfortable balancing strategic thinking with hands-on collaboration.

• You view social media as equal parts creativity, analytics, experimentation, and audience understanding.
