Software Development Engineer - Test Architect

Job Description :

We are seeking a highly skilled SDET Architect to lead the design and implementation of scalable test automation frameworks and quality engineering practices across our product portfolio.

This role is ideal for someone with a strong software engineering background who approaches quality from a developers perspective.

The successful candidate will have deep expertise in automation architecture, modern testing frameworks, API and UI automation, and software development principles.

You will work closely with engineering teams to build quality into the development lifecycle and drive a shift-left testing culture.

The ideal candidate will have 8-12 years of experience in software engineering, SDET, or quality engineering roles, with strong coding skills and hands-on experience building automation solutions using Playwright and modern development practices.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks for web, API, and integration testing.

• Define and drive quality engineering strategy, standards, and best practices across product teams.

• Build robust UI automation solutions using Playwright and modern automation technologies.

• Develop and maintain API automation frameworks to validate backend services and microservices architectures.

• Collaborate closely with software engineers, architects, and product teams to ensure quality is embedded throughout the SDLC.

• Participate in architecture and design discussions, providing input on testability, scalability, and quality considerations.

• Drive CI/CD integration of automated test suites and quality gates.

• Establish automation metrics, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Perform code reviews for automation frameworks and mentor engineers on software engineering best practices.

• Lead root cause analysis of production issues and implement preventive quality measures.

• Advocate for engineering excellence, automation-first thinking, and developer-driven quality practices.

Requirements:

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

• 8-12 years of experience in Software Development, SDET, Quality Engineering, or Test Automation roles.

• Strong software development background with proficiency in Java/Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, or similar programming languages.

• Extensive hands-on experience with Playwright for UI automation.
