Full description
The Government Technology Agency (GovTech) seeks to transform the delivery of Government Digital Services by taking an "outside-in" view, putting citizens and businesses at the heart of everything we do. We also develop the Smart Nation infrastructure and applications, and facilitate collaboration with the public to co-develop technologies.
Join us as we support Singapore's vision of building a Smart Nation, a nation of possibilities empowered through info-communications technology and related engineering.
Who We Are
The Trust & Safety Group builds technology that keeps Singapore's online spaces safe. As part of this group, the GovTech Anti-Scam Products (GASP) team develops solutions to detect, disrupt and deter scammers at scale — spanning data infrastructure, AI/ML-powered proactive detection, partner API integrations, and front-end systems for enforcement agencies. Beyond scams, our work extends to tackling terrorism, child sexual exploitation material, youth and family digital wellbeing, and AI safety risks and deepfakes.
Who Are We Looking For
Bring your engineering expertise and problem-solving ability to fighting scams with technology. You will deliver features that span multiple components, make sound trade-offs between speed, quality and maintainability, and take growing ownership of the systems you build.
We use cloud services and open source wherever possible: AWS, React / React Native, and a mix of SQL/NoSQL databases, among others. Knowing what to build versus what to reuse lets us focus on delivering value rather than re-solving solved problems.
As a software engineer, you will:
- Build POCs and features spanning multiple components to demonstrate technological opportunities.
- Contribute to system architecture and design decisions, with mentorship on cross-component trade-offs.
- Write and review production-quality code, and expand test coverage across key workflows.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, manage cloud deployments, and own observability for what you ship (logging, metrics, SLIs/SLOs).
- Participate in incident triage and resolution, escalating complex issues appropriately.
- Use AI-assisted coding tools to accelerate delivery, reviewing AI-generated code to the same bar as human-authored code.
