Job Description
Software Engineer II, Back End (Kotlin / Java) About the client
Our client is a leading global cybersecurity company that delivers innovative solutions to protect businesses and individuals from evolving threats. Its mission is to give organizations secure, scalable technology that stays resilient against cyber challenges.
About the role
We are looking for a Software Engineer II to join the product development team behind the client's Insider Risk Management product. You will own critical backend services that process billions of events from customers around the world, designing and delivering new services and APIs, evolving existing systems on AWS, and taking end-to-end ownership of the quality, operability and reliability of the code you ship.
This is a mid-level role for engineers who can work independently on moderately complex problems, make sound technical trade-offs and raise the quality of the team around them, by mentoring others, improving how the team builds and taking responsibility for production outcomes.
This is an AI-first engineering organization: teams use AI-powered tools across coding, testing, documentation and operations, and look for engineers who champion their adoption and help establish new ways of working.
What you'll do
- Own the design and implementation of features and services, with monitoring, supportability, testability and operational health built in from the start.
- Turn ambiguous product requirements into cohesive technical designs, identify gaps and trade-offs, and drive them to completion.
- Write unit, integration and service-level tests that give the team confidence to ship, and raise the quality bar in review.
- Debug and troubleshoot across the stack, including production systems under load.
- Write infrastructure as code and own the deployment, configuration and lifecycle of your team's services.
- Own production issues and escalated customer questions, drive incidents to resolution and follow through on durable fixes, including the on-call rotation.
