Full description
Help us to build the performant and reliable networking primitives that power Apple Services. Our mission is to enable service to service communication in a secure and scalable manner that is easy and straightforward for service owners. We are responsible for providing services, meshes, libraries, proxies, and other primitives to deliver an effective network for our peers. Our software must be able to operate at Apple scale.
As a Traffic Engineer you will orchestrate the design and development of cutting-edge traffic meshes, proxies, libraries, and services that power Apple services at an unprecedented scale, serving hundreds of millions of users globally. As a key player in our tech ecosystem, you will take the lead in enhancing our network stack for improved mesh, ingress, and egress functionality. This role is not just about coding; it's about making contributions architecting the backbone of Apple, pushing the boundaries of what's possible in the realm of software development. If you're passionate about tackling challenges at an extraordinary scale, innovating in the traffic management space, and influencing the direction of an industry giant, this is your opportunity to shine!
All engineers will be expected to be empowered to make the right choices for our customers. Senior engineers will be expected to excel at making informed technology choices within complex architectures, whether it's deciding to build or buy specific components and selecting the right frameworks. Your deep understanding of the organization's business, products, customers, and strategy will empower us to pinpoint opportunities aligning with our team's mission. We expect senior engineers to make decisive choices even amid conflicting perspectives, demonstrating our commitment by disagreeing effectively and then committing to the chosen path. Navigating ambiguity is our strength - you will concentrate on the broader objectives, goals, and desired impact, taking deliberate steps forward. Our dedication extends to coaching and mentoring teammates, considering their unique skills, backgrounds, and working styles. You will actively seek and provide constructive feedback to foster growth within our team.
Here you will find that we:
- Have a collaborative work environment where you can choose when to socialize and when to focus
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship
- Have an encouraging and growth-focused workplace culture
- Encourage you to use accrued vacation time and maintain a healthy work-life balance
- Offer excellent benefits!
