Our organization is recruiting a compassionate and resourceful Special Education Teacher for an Illinois school district. This position centers on supporting a small classroom of approximately 10 students, primarily diagnosed with autism, whose academic, developmental, and daily living needs may vary significantly.

**Your Role in the Classroom:

• Participating in IEP meetings and contributing to student-centered educational planning.

• Promoting student engagement, self-confidence, and independence through purposeful learning activities.

• Implementing positive behavior strategies and maintaining a structured, supportive classroom environment.

• Tracking student performance, evaluating progress toward IEP goals, and completing required documentation.

• Delivering individualized instruction to address academic, communication, behavioral, and functional life skills.

• Developing and adapting lesson materials, classroom activities, and routines to support varying learning abilities.

• Working closely with paraprofessionals, families, and related-service providers to maintain consistent support throughout the school day.

Requirements

Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education or a related field, along with an active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with the appropriate Special Education endorsement. Candidates should be skilled in developing individualized instructional strategies and maintaining a structured, positive classroom environment. Experience working with students with autism, significant support needs, or in a self-contained classroom is preferred.
