Full description
FinQuery stands at the forefront of accounting automation, driven by a deep specialty in contract-driven accounting. Our AI-enabled platform transforms how controllers and finance teams operate, seamlessly managing and accounting for the complex financial contracts—like leases, prepaids, and accruals—that are the backbone of modern business. We are not just a software provider; we are the unified subledger that eliminates time-intensive, error-prone technical accounting workflows, ensuring financial reports are accurate and empowering our customers to focus on strategic, high-value tasks.
FinQuery is the global leader in lease accounting (as recognized on ) and serve more than 8,700 customers worldwide. Our growth trajectory has been consistently validated by the Inc 5000, which has recognized us as one of the fastest-growing private companies for five consecutive years.
FinQuery is seeking an experienced Senior Database Administrator (DBA) to join our Data Engineering team. In this role, you will lead the strategy, architecture, implementation, lifecycle management, and continuous enhancement of enterprise database platforms across our growing fintech organization. You will hold ultimate accountability for system availability, performance, recoverability, and security across global infrastructure, while playing a key role in modernizing and supporting PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Snowflake, and cloud-native technologies. As a hands-on technical leader with design authority, you will drive engineering standards and operational excellence company-wide.
How You'll Make an Impact:
- Lead the architecture, implementation, and operational management of enterprise database platforms, focusing on PostgreSQL (including AWS Aurora) and MS SQL Server.
- Own the upgrade program. Plan and execute major-version upgrades across the fleet with minimal downtime, and keep engine versions current enough that they never gate replication or recovery capability.
- Raise the bar on schema-change governance - review standards for migrations, index and locking review, and automated guardrails so unsafe changes are caught before they reach production.
- Partner with security and compliance on encryption, row-level security, least-privilege access, and the evidence our SOC 1/2 and regulatory obligations depend on.
- Be a senior escalation point for database-driven incidents, and turn each one into a durable fix, a runbook, or an alert rather than a repeat.
- Build automation and AI-assisted tooling that makes routine database work self-serve for product engineers, and mentor engineers across the org on data modeling, query design, and operating databases at scale.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting, root cause analysis, performance analysis, capacity planning, tuning, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning.
