The Role:
The Senior Electrical Design Engineers play a key role in improving Tesla's manufacturing operational efficiency and system stability, working closely with equipment suppliers, system integrators, and cross-functional internal teams to perform electrical hardware design, circuit optimization, and some PLC programming tasks. This position primarily focuses on full-cycle electrical hardware design for automated production lines, rigorous high-quality design reviews, and technical validation to ensure cost-effectiveness in electrical schematic design, component selection, and electrical system configuration. By collaborating closely with internal engineering, production, and technical teams as well as external partners, this role drives continuous optimization of electrical systems, effective manufacturing cost control, and overall operational performance improvements in the production process.
Responsibilities:
- Complete electrical schematic design and wiring layout together with mechanical engineers, conduct project feasibility evaluation, and ensure all electrical designs are safe, reasonable, and compliant with production process requirements.
- Establish, update and optimize BTP(Built to print) standardized electrical drawings, component specifications and general BOM lists for common electrical parts to support standardized project execution.
- Participate in pre-project technical discussion and solution formulation and collaborate with mechanical and automation teams to confirm electrical schemes, technical specifications and unified internal standards.
- Assist the control team with PLC programming, offline simulation and on-site commissioning, and independently complete development, parameter configuration and functional verification of simple and medium-complexity PLC programs.
- Deliver full-set electrical drawings, compile installation and inspection specifications, and generate accurate electrical BOM and procurement documents to guide purchasing and on-site production.
- Develop, optimize and maintain internal electrical design standards, and promote standardized, modular and generalized electrical design across projects.
- Provide technical guidance and standard training for supplier electrical teams, supervise design and construction quality, track on-site electrical issues, analyze root causes and complete closed-loop rectification.
- Adopt AI auxiliary design tools to realize automatic generation, optimization and intelligent inspection of electrical drawings, keep track of cutting-edge industry technologies and standards, and drive the upgrading of internal electrical design systems.
- Manage classification, version control and standardized archiving of all electrical drawings and technical documents, ensure accuracy and timeliness, and support project traceability and iterative optimization.
