Job Description Summary
The Sr. Network Engineer is responsible for providing advanced network engineering, operations, and support for global enterprise environments, primarily supporting international locations. Working from an offshore delivery center, this role ensures high availability, performance, security, and scalability of network services across data centers, cloud environments, and end-user locations. The role requires strong hands-on expertise in traditional networking (LAN/WAN, routing, switching, firewalls) as well as modern networking technologies such as Cloud WAN, SD-WAN, cloud-native networking, and hybrid connectivity. The engineer will support both passive and active network infrastructure, participate in escalations, and collaborate closely with onshore teams, vendors, and cloud providers.
Essential Duties
- Provide L3/L4 support for enterprise network infrastructure supporting global users and business-critical applications.
- Monitor, manage, and troubleshoot network incidents, performance issues, and outages across international locations.
- Act as an escalation point for complex network issues and major incidents.
- Support 24x7 operations through on-call rotations as required for global coverage.
- Design, configure, and support routing and switching environments using enterprise-grade technologies (Cisco, Juniper, Aruba, etc.).
- Manage and troubleshoot LAN, WAN, WLAN, and data center network environments.
- Support firewalls, load balancers, VPNs, and secure remote access solutions.
- Implement and maintain network redundancy, high availability, and failover configurations.
- Coordinate with facilities, vendors, and local teams for passive infrastructure installations and changes.
- Ensure proper documentation, labeling, and compliance with cabling and data center standards.
- Design and support Cloud WAN / SD-WAN solutions for global connectivity optimization.
- Support cloud networking in AWS, Azure, and/or GCP, including VPC/VNet design, routing, security groups, and connectivity.
- Support network integration for SaaS platforms and cloud-native applications.
- Implement and support network security controls including firewall rules, segmentation, and access policies.
- Partner with Information Security teams to remediate vulnerabilities and support audits and compliance requirements.
- Ensure secure network connectivity across on-prem, cloud, and remote environments.
- Participate in change management processes including planning, testing, implementation, and rollback.
- Maintain accurate network documentation including diagrams, IP addressing, standards, and SOPs.
- Leverage automation and scripting (where applicable) to improve network operations and efficiency.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
