About the Role
Polymarket is looking for a Staff Android Engineer to help build a world-class trading app on Android. Millions of users follow markets, track positions, and make trades on their phones — and the Android experience needs to match that level of engagement.
This is a high-ownership, high-influence role for someone who has operated at the staff level before and knows what it means to shape a platform, not just build on it. You'll set the technical direction for Android at Polymarket, raise the bar across the codebase, and help take a product that's already at scale to the next level.

What You'll Do
- Set the technical direction for Android at Polymarket, making and owning architectural decisions that the team builds around
- Build and own Android features spanning payments flows, real-time market data, and core UI with full accountability from design handoff through to production
- Implement polished, performant interfaces with Jetpack Compose that hold up under real trading conditions and meet a high bar for feel and reliability
- Own CI/CD pipelines and Gradle configuration, keeping the build fast and the release process reliable as the team and product grow
- Build and maintain integrations across WebSockets, gRPC, and streaming data to power the live market features traders depend on
- Operate as a technical leader across a distributed team: communicate clearly, make decisions without hand-holding, and raise the engineering bar through code reviews and strong engineering standards
- Actively incorporate AI tools into your development workflow to move faster and maintain a high output bar
- Identify and address gaps in Android architecture and engineering practices before they become problems at scale
