What you will be working on
We are looking for a hands-on database engineer to modernise a large-scale, business-critical platform, migrating legacy Oracle databases to PostgreSQL while ensuring data integrity, minimal downtime, and reliable performance.
- Lead end-to-end data migration, including ETL, reconciliation, cutover, and rollback planning.
- Reverse-engineer undocumented business logic from legacy schemas, stored procedures, and triggers.
- Optimise SQL queries, indexing, partitioning, and database configurations for high-volume workloads.
- Manage database reliability, backup and recovery, replication, high availability, and disaster recovery.
- Establish standards for schema changes, database security, monitoring, and operational best practices.
- Build automation and validation tools using Python, Bash, or similar scripting languages.
- Work with application teams to resolve database issues and improve system performance.
What we are looking for
