What We Do
We’re on a mission to empower animal healthcare professionals with opportunities to earn more and achieve greater flexibility in their careers and personal lives.
Powered by groundbreaking technology, Roo has built the industry-leading veterinary staffing platform, connecting Veterinarians, Technicians, and Assistants with animal hospitals for relief work and hiring opportunities. Roo empowers the largest network of over 20,000 veterinary professionals to help more than 9,000 animal hospitals provide quality care to more pets.
Together, we’ve provided more than 3 million hours of healthcare, helping Veterinarians earn more than $200 million.
About the Role
As a Staff Product Manager at Roo, you’ll play a pivotal role in driving company-wide impact by leading high-priority initiatives that map directly to our most critical business goals.
This role sits in the Veterinarian Business Unit (BU): the supply side of the marketplace, and the engine behind everything else we do. You'll partner with a cross-functional team spanning engineering, design, data, marketing, and sales to define how veterinary professionals discover Roo, get to work, and build durable careers on the platform.
As the lead product driver in this BU, you’ll be a strategic thought partner to the GM and drive definition of and execute against a product strategy that delivers measurable outcomes against the BUs goals. Operating with significant autonomy, you’ll take a growth-minded, iterative approach by identifying leverage points, shipping improvements quickly, and building scalable systems for our customers and internal users.
You'll report to the GM of the Veterinarian Business Unit and work as part of Roo's product guild, which owns craft standards and the hiring bar for product management across the company.
While the position is remote, occasional travel to our San Francisco co-working space for key meetings and team events is expected.
Your Responsibilities
- Own the path from sign-up to first shift which includes identity and license verification, the approval decision, first-run experience, and the flow from browsing to requesting to working. Decide what gets automated and what stays human.
- Build the product for high-volume relief vets: recurring bookings, multi-shift blocks, durable hospital relationships, and the calendar and earnings tooling that makes Roo their default rather than one of several apps.
- Turn promotions and incentives from operator-run levers into product such as targeting, automation and guardrails that decide where a dollar goes.
- Partner with the BU's growth marketer as a pair, not a handoff: shared conversion targets, joint experiments, and a standing argument about where the bottleneck actually is.
