Full description
The International School of Busan seeks a knowledgeable, compassionate, and collaborative educational leader to serve as the Whole School Student Support Services Director. This position plays a vital role in ensuring that all students have equitable access to meaningful learning opportunities and receive the academic, language, social, and emotional support necessary to thrive within an inclusive international school environment.
Appointed by and reporting directly to the Head of School, the Student Support Services Director works closely with the Elementary and Secondary Principals to provide strategic leadership, coordination, and oversight of student support services across the school. The Director leads a multidisciplinary Student Support Team comprising Learning Support Teachers, English as an Additional Language (EAL) Teachers, Learning Support Assistants, and the Social and Emotional Counsellor.
Serving as the school's designated Child Protection Officer, the Director maintains appropriate records of suspected abuse or neglect and reports such concerns to the Head of School by the end of the school day, in accordance with established school procedures.
The Director also serves as a member of the Child Protection Response Team (CPRT), contributing to the school's coordinated approach to safeguarding and student protection.
Through professional guidance, staff education, and collaboration with school leadership, the Director helps reinforce a culture in which student welfare is prioritised and safeguarding responsibilities are understood across the school community.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to inclusive education, student wellbeing, collaborative problem-solving, and continuous improvement. The Director ensures that student support programmes, policies, and practices reflect the school's mission, vision, values, and beliefs while maintaining alignment with International Baccalaureate (IB) Standards and Practices and Council of International Schools (CIS) accreditation expectations.
