BUILD MARKETS. SHAPE ECONOMIES.
At SGX Group, we create markets. We turn ideas into products and expand access to new opportunities. We are building the future of the exchange in-house: from architecture and platforms to the critical systems that power markets. The biggest decisions are still open to people who join us now.
The opportunity
The Senior Vice President, Software Engineering is a senior technology executive role responsible for shaping the engineering foundations of SGX. This leader defines the engineering strategy, platform direction, and technical standards that enable secure, resilient, and high-performing systems at enterprise scale. Operating across mission-critical environments, the role blends strategic leadership, modern engineering practices, and strong operational discipline to accelerate platform transformation, enhance developer productivity, and deliver measurable business value through technology.
SGX Ambition & Career Path:
This is a high-impact opportunity to lead engineering at meaningful scale, influence the future of enterprise platforms, and shape how modern software engineering is practised within one of Singapore’s most important market infrastructure organisations. The role is designed for a leader who is motivated by transformation, platform modernisation, and building engineering capability that delivers lasting enterprise value.
The position offers broad enterprise visibility, close engagement with senior leadership, and the opportunity to build modern platforms, high-performing teams, and engineering practices that strengthen SGX’s long-term resilience and competitiveness. For the right leader, it provides a strong pathway to broader enterprise technology leadership responsibilities, including larger-scale engineering, platform, architecture, or transformation portfolios.
The Software Engineering team
Software Engineering builds, runs and evolves the applications and platforms behind SGX Group's business and market infrastructure.
The team works closely with product, architecture, platform, security and delivery colleagues to turn business priorities into secure, resilient and scalable services. Its remit spans the full engineering lifecycle, from technical design and delivery through to production ownership and continuous improvement.
Our next phase is about strengthening engineering ownership, modernising platforms and practices and building consistency across teams without flattening the different needs of each business domain.
What you will do
- Software Development: Define engineering direction, software development strategy and organisational development standards.
- Software Design: Define enterprise-wide software design principles and engineering architecture direction.
