The Impact You'll Make
As our Tactical Buyer Planner, you’ll help launch a new Hydronics valve train assembly line in Tallahassee by ensuring the right materials are available when production needs them. You’ll combine operational purchasing and production planning to maintain delivery performance, inventory accuracy, and effective inventory levels.
You’ll also help transition material sourcing and planning activities from European counterparts to the United States, giving you the opportunity to shape processes within a growing manufacturing operation.
Success in this role means enabling reliable production, meeting customer delivery commitments, and achieving inventory targets as the new operation scales.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Plan and purchase material requirements in SAP, using production demand, sales forecasts, and MRP data to keep the assembly line supplied while maintaining appropriate inventory levels.
- Monitor and manage open purchase orders, expediting or rescheduling materials when necessary to protect production schedules and customer deliveries.
- Coordinate with suppliers, assembly teams, Operations, Customer Service, Supplier Quality, and Procurement to resolve supply constraints and align current and future production needs.
- Maintain production orders, inventory movements, ordering quantities, and part-level MRP data to improve inventory accuracy and support delivery and inventory-turn targets.
- Implement engineering changes and help transition purchasing and planning responsibilities from European colleagues to the Tallahassee operation, building dependable processes as the manufacturing line develops.
