Technical Project Manager - Cloud

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

• Develop a strong technical and functional understanding of assigned cloud projects: infrastructure builds, cloud migrations, modernization, landing zones, FinOps, and managed services.

• Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, and budgets aligned with cloud infrastructure complexity and migration wave planning.

• Lead cross-functional teams (cloud engineers, architects, DevOps, SRE, security) to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.

• Track, monitor, and report on cloud project metrics: migration velocity, infrastructure uptime, security posture, cost optimization KPIs.

• Implement metrics-driven project management - define and publish KPIs (migration wave progress, infrastructure provisioning SLAs, cloud spend vs. budget) and take corrective actions.

• Communicate effectively with client and internal stakeholders to provide project updates, technical feasibility assessments, and address cloud-specific concerns.

• Ensure governance cadences (sprint reviews, architecture review boards, release gates) are adhered to.

• Manage project funding/invoicing timely and accurately.

• Mentor junior project managers in cloud delivery practices.

DOMAIN-SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE: (must demonstrate fluency in at least 3 of the following)

• Cloud migration strategies: 6Rs (rehost, replatform, refactor, etc.), wave planning, dependency mapping.

• Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, CloudFormation, Pulumi, or CDK.

• Containerization & orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes (EKS/AKS/GKE).

• CI/CD pipelines for cloud deployments: CodePipeline, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins.
