Full description
Who We Are
Rocscience is a global provider of engineering modelling, analysis, and design software across geotechnical, mining, structural, hydrogeology, and energy geomechanics applications.
Engineers and geoscientists rely on Rocscience’s category-leading platform to model scenarios, collaborate across disciplines, and make better decisions on safety-critical projects. Built-in AI capabilities automate routine workflows, so customers can focus on delivering designs that are technically rigorous and economically sound.
Founded in 1996, Rocscience is headquartered in Toronto, Canada, with operations throughout the Americas, Africa, Europe, and Asia-Pacific.
The Role
We are looking for a Technical Sales Engineer to join our growing team in Australia.
This is a hands-on pre- and post-sales engineering role and an important technical connection between Rocscience and our customers across the region. You will work closely with prospective and existing customers to understand their engineering challenges, demonstrate how Rocscience software can support their work, and provide credible technical guidance throughout the customer journey.
A significant part of the role will involve preparing and delivering live software demonstrations across the Rocscience product suite, supporting evaluations and trials, and responding to technical questions from customers. You will also have opportunities to represent Rocscience at conferences, courses, workshops, and other industry events.
Above all, this is a customer-focused role. You'll start by understanding the customer's engineering problem and then show, hands-on, how Rocscience software can help solve it.
You will report to the Sales Director, APAC and work closely with colleagues across Sales, Technical Services, Product, and Engineering.
What You'll Do
- Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality live software demonstrations across the Rocscience product suite, tailored to each customer's application, industry, and engineering challenges.
- Lead technical discovery conversations to understand customer workflows and challenges, identify the right Rocscience solutions, and demonstrate those solutions hands-on.
- Support the sales cycle as a technical partner, including evaluations, trials, and proofs of concept, helping the sales team qualify and progress opportunities.
- Act as a key technical point of contact for customer enquiries, providing accurate and practical guidance on modelling approaches, workflows, and geotechnical applications.
- Build trusted relationships with customers by combining strong technical knowledge with curiosity, responsiveness, and an understanding of their business and engineering needs.
