This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Vice President, Value and Access based in the United States.
This is a senior, client-facing leadership opportunity for an experienced healthcare market access professional to shape pricing, reimbursement, and value strategies across the pharmaceutical and life sciences industries. You will bring deep, real-world payer, pharmacy benefit manager (PBM), or healthcare channel expertise to help clients navigate complex market dynamics and overcome access barriers. Working with pharmaceutical manufacturers and cross-functional teams, you will translate market insights into practical strategies that support product launches, competitive positioning, and sustainable commercial success. You will advise on pricing and contracting models, reimbursement pathways, value-based agreements, and the operational considerations that influence patient access. Beyond client delivery, you will contribute to business development, strengthen industry relationships, and help expand innovative, data-driven market access offerings. This role combines strategic consulting, hands-on client engagement, thought leadership, and commercial development in a collaborative, remote-first environment. It is ideal for a recognized industry expert who can challenge conventional thinking, communicate complex ideas clearly, and deliver actionable recommendations that improve healthcare product access.
Accountabilities
- Advise clients on market access, pricing, reimbursement, and contracting strategies, providing candid, evidence-informed perspectives on therapeutic value, competitive positioning, and commercial opportunities.
- Develop recommendations for pricing and contracting approaches, including gross-to-net (GTN) considerations, distribution models, patient services, and strategies that support access across retail and specialty products.
- Incorporate value-based principles into payer and manufacturer strategies, including value-based contracting frameworks and the operational capabilities required to implement and manage agreements.
- Identify practical, compliant solutions to access challenges involving payers, PBMs, employer groups, benefit consultants, group purchasing organizations (GPOs), health systems, integrated delivery networks (IDNs), distributors, wholesalers, and pharmacies.
- Assess the implications of reinsurance arrangements, legislative developments, government pricing requirements, and reimbursement policies for high-cost therapies and other pharmaceutical products.
-
Collaborate with client teams across Pricing and Contracting, Payer Marketing, Market Access Field teams, Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR), Medical Affairs, Legal, and Finance to align recommendations with brand objectives and implementation requirements.
- Use internal expertise, available data, and external stakeholder insights to strengthen strategic recommendations and deliverables.
- Lead expert contributions to client presentations, strategy sessions, payer roundtables, and status meetings, while reviewing and developing content that reflects real-world payer perspectives.
- Support engagements involving market access strategy, product profiling, payer assessments, formulary and product management, risk management, clinical and economic value, competitive positioning, and outcomes-based approaches.
- Provide guidance on HEOR relevance, payer perceptions of product value, reimbursement barriers, and the clinical and economic factors that influence adoption.
- Design or contribute to educational initiatives and training related to reinsurance, value-based contracting, and contract negotiations.
- Support business development by identifying target customers, developing engagement strategies, contributing to capability presentations, and helping consulting teams pursue new opportunities.
- Drive awareness and adoption of evidence and outcomes adjudication platforms and emerging data-driven solutions.
- Represent the organization at industry conferences, networking events, publications, and public forums, sharing relevant expertise and approved perspectives.
- Build and maintain relationships with payers, PBMs, reinsurers, and other stakeholders in coordination with internal talent and customer engagement teams.
- Provide feedback on service offerings, market positioning, and emerging client needs to support continued business growth.
