Schedule may vary based on staffing coverage, partner meetings, events, emergencies, and other program needs.
St. Vincent de Paul of Baton Rouge is seeking an organized, steady, and compassionate Welcome Center Program Manager to lead the daily operations of our Welcome Center for the neighbors we serve, as well as our staff, volunteers, and community partners. In this role, you will focus on building a strong team, keeping services running smoothly, and making sure the Welcome Center stays accessible and responsive to the needs of every person who walks through our doors.
Reporting to the Chief Services Officer, the Welcome Center Program Manager provides overall operational leadership and direct supervision for the Welcome Center team, including Guest Advocates, Basic Needs Attendants, Intake Specialist and the Care & Essentials Coordinator. You will oversee staffing, partner coordination, facilities, resource navigation, basic-needs services, safety, budgeting, and reporting, and you will serve as a hands-on working supervisor when the day calls for it. Through this work you will help carry out the mission of St. Vincent de Paul with dignity, compassion, and excellence.
What You'll Do
- Supervise Welcome Center staff, managing hiring, onboarding, training, performance, and employee concerns in coordination with HR and the Chief Services Officer.
- Develop staff schedules that ensure appropriate coverage during operating hours, and step in as a working supervisor when staffing needs require.
- Oversee daily operations, including operating hours, space use, service availability, and procedures, and escalate significant matters appropriately.
- Ensure services are delivered safely, consistently, and in accordance with SVDP policies and standards, keeping the Welcome Center welcoming, organized, and responsive.
- Monitor service availability, identify operational gaps or barriers affecting neighbors, and respond to complaints and grievances.
- Coordinate day-to-day communication, scheduling, and space use with community partners and service providers, and maintain current information on available services, eligibility, and referral contacts.
- Ensure accurate and timely program data, HMIS documentation, incident reports, and required records.
- Track program KPIs, participation, referrals, and service utilization, and prepare routine program, grant, and leadership reports.
- Monitor the operating budget, grant-funded expenses, supplies, and equipment needs; review staff timekeeping; and coordinate financial matters with Finance.
