WHO WE ARE
Elliott Davis pairs forward-thinking tax, assurance and consulting services with industry-leading workplace culture. Our nine offices — located in the fastest growing cities in the US — are built on a foundation of inclusivity, collaboration, and collective growth. We work daily to provide exceptional service to our people, customers, and our communities. Audit and assurance services are provided by Elliott Davis, LLC (doing business in NC and D.C. as Elliott Davis, PLLC), a licensed CPA firm.
The Workflow and Resource Allocation Manager manages and optimizes the end-to-end production workflow across assigned Tax industry teams, serving as the central lead for staff deployment, capacity utilization, and assignment sequencing. The role maintains full strategic visibility into practice-wide production capacity, including manager workloads, reduced scheduling models, and multi-industry team allocations.
Utilizing independent judgment, data analytics, and advanced AI-enabled scheduling platforms, the Workflow and Resource Allocation Manager identifies operational bottlenecks, redistributes work assignments, and alters project sequencing based on staff availability, technical skill mapping, and firm commercial priorities.
Operating with high autonomy under the broad directional goals of industry leadership, the Manager possesses the delegated authority to enforce workflow commitments, reallocate resources to resolve competing priorities, and strategically balance workloads to achieve the firm's turnaround-time, billable-hour, and revenue targets. As a operational leader, the Manager builds trusted advisory relationships with industry group leaders, engagement teams, and professionals to maximize workforce efficiency, mitigate production risks, and ensure seamless delivery execution.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and execute the day-to-day production workflow for assigned industry teams, utilizing autonomous authority to deploy staff, initiate project starts, and authorize the redistribution of assignments based on capacity and deadlines.
- Strategically analyze team capacity, mapping out upcoming review demands, reduced work schedules, and competing priorities to proactively restructure production schedules before delivery timelines are impacted.
- Resolve resource conflicts and eliminate production bottlenecks, utilizing independent judgment to reassign or re-sequence workloads across competing practice areas.
- Enforce delivery accountability and turnaround times across the preparation, review, and completion stages by actively managing the handoff lifecycle and overriding delayed schedules.
- Serve as the operational lead for team members supporting multiple sectors, preventing over-allocation, duplicate scheduling, or conflicting cross-industry commitments.
- Lead workflow briefings and routine touchpoints with production teams to actively audit work-in-progress, anticipate disruptions, and implement real-time schedule adjustments.
